To speak with a compassionate treatment specialist about our dual diagnosis program in Georgia.

This is a common question asked by people who begin their journey through addiction treatment. It’s true that generally speaking, taking certain medications can be a bad idea for people in recovery. However, there are situations where medication can actually be an asset. If participating in a medication program, it is important to talk extensively with your physician and stick closely to the routine prescribed for you.

Once detoxification is completed, it is worth discussing the possibility of a medication assisted treatment program with your recovery team. At Mount Sinai Wellness Center, our experienced physicians can help you choose a safe, evidence-based program that fits your needs.

What is Supervised Medication?

Supervised medication is also sometimes called detoxification. This process involves the administration of medication, used to help ease withdrawal symptoms and facilitate a more comfortable recovery. There are many types of supervised medication detox programs, and our physicians and clinicians can work to determine which best suits your unique path to recovery.

Finding the Right Program for Your Situation

The course of your medication assisted program will vary depending on the specific addiction you deal with. If you have a co-occurring mental health disorder, this is something else that will need to be considered when creating a treatment plan.
