Bio
Maryam is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She attended Medical school at Iran University of Medical Sciences, in Tehran, Iran. She graduated in 1994 and practiced as a general practitioner from 1994 – 2000. She moved to the USA and returned to graduate school. She earned a Master’s Degree in Nursing in December 2020 and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2019, both from Emory University, in Atlanta GA, and holds a national certification with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) as a family nurse practitioner.
Prior to joining the Mount Sinai team Maryam worked in a Detox center and cared for clients suffering from a variety of substance use and mental-health-related crises. She has experience as a registered nurse, nursing practitioner, and international medical graduate. Her work experiences over the last 25 years have afforded her a well-rounded skill set, including excellent nursing abilities, and clinical skills.
Maryam is an active member of several professional organizations including the American College of Nurse Practitioners, and Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society of Nursing.
